Required Technology and Software

(1) A computer that is able to utilize video conferencing, MS office products, internet access, and a headset for live discussions. The headset can be bluetooth enable earpieces as long as it contains a built-in microphone, as students will not be allowed to utilize their computer’s built-in microphone because of the potential for digital feedback loops, and the potential for transmission of background noise, which could disrupt live class discussions and presentations.
A laptop is more functionally applicable, because each student will be constantly engaged in corporate and industry projects, and may find that they will need to take their data with them to various locations. Surface products, such as the “Go”, “Pro”, and “Laptop” are great portable units that can operate a full copy of Windows 10. These products start at about $500 new, but many of these products can be purchased at lower discounts if refurbished.
(2) Each student will be required to connect with the University via LinkedIn. If the student does not have a LinkedIn account, then the student must create a link and connect with the University.
This is because the University will provide recommendations to each students account as they progress through their projects and skill mastery activities.
(3) Each student will be required to have or create an Microsoft account at www.outlook.com, so that files can be shared, and students can have access to MS office online. Students are encouraged to obtain a license for MS Office (word, excel, powerpoint, onenotes).
(4) SmartDraw will be provided by the University to each student, https://www.smartdraw.com
SmartDraw is a highly professional visualization software that students will be utilizing to generate a variety of business related reports, and documents. This program will be utilized throughout the program for project development and management.
